Aldea is a leader in the tunnel industry. Our involvement in industry associations runs deep, with our President, Bob Goodfellow, serving as the current Chair of the American Underground Construction Association (UCA of SME). Mr. Goodfellow also writes a regular opinion piece as “The Insider” in the North American Tunneling Journal magazine. Senior Vice President, Paul Headland, serves on the organizing committee of No-Dig, the major trenchless technology conference (organized by NASTT); and also serves as the liaison between UCA and the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG).
Jim Brady provides liaison between UCA and the International Tunneling Association and Underground Space (ITA) for their working group on lifetime costing of underground infrastructure; and Angel del Amo is actively contributing to the publication of several works on EPBM tunneling and precast concrete segment design and construction for ITATech, the technical products and manuals committees within the ITA.
Other Aldea Engineers assist with the UCA young members, women in tunneling professional organizations, and serve on organizing committees for all of the major tunneling conferences in the US and Canada.
Our senior professionals have been instrumental in major industry publications, such as:
